WELCOME
The John Henry "Pop" Lloyd Committee began its work in the early '90's with the initial mission of restoring the Atlantic City baseball field dedicated in 1949 to honor the playing career and community service of National Baseball Hall of Fame great, John Henry “Pop” Lloyd. The Committee continues to extend this legacy so that the youth of America may benefit from the values engendered from “Pop” Lloyd, all those that played Negro League baseball, and the culture in which it was played.
Through its ongoing educational outreach and public commemoration, the Committee celebrates a unique chapter in sports and American history that provides an opportunity to apply to our lives the lessons for living elegantly, with exuberance in the face of adversity and discrimination.
